The Weaver..........a poem
The Weaver
My life is but a weaving,
between my God and me,
I do not choose the colors,
He worketh steadily.
Ofttimes he weaveth sorrow,
and I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper,
and I the underside.
Not till the loom is silent,
and the shuttles cease to fly,
Will God unroll the canvas,
and explain the reasons why
The dark threads are as needful
in the skillful weaver's hand
As threads of gold and silver
in the pattern He has planned.
My life is but a weaving,
between my God and me,
I do not choose the colors,
He worketh steadily.
Ofttimes he weaveth sorrow,
and I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper,
and I the underside.
Not till the loom is silent,
and the shuttles cease to fly,
Will God unroll the canvas,
and explain the reasons why
The dark threads are as needful
in the skillful weaver's hand
As threads of gold and silver
in the pattern He has planned.

To my long lost friend in LA......a correction
To my anonymous friend in LA,
I'm glad you stopped by to say,
That you're a friend indeed,
To whom I should heed,
So this tribute to you I pay!
I'm glad you stopped by to say,
That you're a friend indeed,
To whom I should heed,
So this tribute to you I pay!
Me, the boss, and the oldest son and wife!

Blogs......
I do like to go to friend's blogs. I don't leave a comment too often. But I enjoy reading the things my friends say. They are all so talented at writing and expressing themselves and I do love the pictures too. To all fellow bloggers, many thanks. And... I don't know what else to say.......!

The Lord Keep Thee
How shall He keep thee?
In His own pavilion hiding:
In His precious love abiding,
Where no earthly care can reach thee,
Where the Lord Himself can teach thee,
Precious lessons yet unknown,
Taught thee by Himself alone.
How shall He keep thee?
With the all-covering shadow of His wings;
With the strong love that guards from evil things;
With the sure power that safe to glory brings,
Thus may He keep thee!

"Take this child, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages." (Exodus 2:9)
"Take this child and nurse it for me" -
So King Pharaoh's daughter spake
To the mother, whose whole being
For her little one did ache.
So God speaks to every mother
At her helpless infant's birth:
"Take this child and nurse it for Me",
During all its life on earth.
"Take this child, to thee I trust it;
It from thee must learn the way,
Through the earthly darkness round it,
To the light of heavenly day.
"Take this child - and Mother, ponder!
Yonder heaven is pure and fair;
Wouldst thou be amidst its number
And thy little one not there?
"Oh, then train it, gently, wisely,
Of its Saviour's love to feel;
And, where sin has cast its shadow,
Teach it Christ has power to heal.
"Take this child, this richest blessing
Given to the earthly home;
Take this child and nurse it for Me,
Till to claim Mine own I come."

Landscape
By Roy Lessin,
Co-founder DaySpring Cards
Your life's like a landscape and God has the brush.
The work is in progress, He's not in a rush.
Each stroke has a purpose, nothing's by chance.
To see all His wisdom takes more than a glance.
Notice the sunbeams that shine on the dew --
Even the clouds can't keep them from view.
Look at the pathway that turns at the hill --
Its course will reveal what's next in His will.
The stream that's flowing with water so blue
Is bringing down blessings meant just for you.
The trees that are planted close to the stream
Will bring forth more fruit than you've ever seen.
The bird in the nest with mouth opened wide
Is just a reminder that God will provide.
Now look at the sheep in the meadow that's near
And notice the Shepherd that keeps them from fear.
He's brought them to pastures which give forth the best,
That cool and refresh, and keep them in rest.
The eagle above, that soars o'er the gale
Is God's way of saying, "My strength will not fail."
That part of the painting which now seems unclear
Will take on new meaning with each passing year.
So trust God to work in His own perfect way
And rejoice in the beauty He's painting today.

God's Faithful Promises
"I will be with thee: I will not fail
thee, nor forsake thee." Joshua 1:3
God be with you: He is strong,
He will lead you safe along;
He will always meet your need,
Give you on Himself to feed.
God be with you: He is wise,
Knoweth all beneath the skies:
Knows your need from day to day,
Therefore, Christian, watch and pray.
God be with you: He is light,
In His presence all is bright;
In His light we journey on,
Filled with Joy and Hope and Song.
God is Love: How well you know,
What the cost to save from woe;
What the love that freely gave
His own Son your Soul to save.
God is with you all the way,
Until night shall pass away;
Then to see His Blessed face,
Saved forever, by His grace.

THE PURPOSE
We understand not now the meaning
Of the trials and sorrows we face,
But they hasten our steps to His feet
To seek for His comfort and grace.
We marvel and sigh at the roughness
Of the pathway that stretches before,
And our hearts grow anxious with longing
For the day when this journey is o’er.
But, O, when the Morning Star rises
And we’re caught up to meet Him above,
We shall begin to know His purpose
That gave us these trials, in love!

Build A Nest
BUILD A NEST
Build a nest in the golden air,
That blows through the trusting tree,
Far away from the mists of care,
And the waves of the doubting sea.
What though the stormwinds rack and roar,
What though the raindrops fall,
Your nest is safe for evermore,
In the hand that is holding all.
Thus ever on through life we find,
To trust, O Lord, is best.
Who serve thee with a quiet mind,
Find in thy service rest.
Their outward troubles may not cease,
But this their joy shall be:
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on thee..."

"We went through fire and through water: but Thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place." (Psalm 66:12)
"God could have kept Daniel out of the lion's den. He could have kept Paul and Silas out of jail. He could have kept the three Hebrew children out of the fiery furnace. But God never promised to keep us out of hard places. Yet He has promised to go with us through every hard place, and to bring us through victoriously!" (Christian Truth - Volume 22 - 1969)

Go on For Jesus’ Sake
When sadness looms and things go wrong
The heart begins to ache,
Discouragements become so strong;
Go on for Jesus’ sake.
When friendships turn behind your back
The sanctioned soul will shake,
Distress ensued and future black,
Go on for Jesus’ sake.
When light affliction gets us down
Or dignity’s at stake,
Remember nails and cross and crown,
Go on for Jesus’ sake.
When sufferings of this present time
Are more than I can take,
The groaning of the Spirit say,
Go on for Jesus’ sake. Tim Roach

The Teacup
There was a couple who used to go to England to shop in a beautiful gift store. This trip was to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. They both liked antiques and pottery, and especially teacups. Spotting an exceptional cup, they asked, "May we see that? We’ve never seen a cup quite so beautiful."
As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke. "You don’t understand, " it said, "I have not always been a teacup. My master took me and rolled me and pounded and patted me over and over and I yelled out, Don’t do that. I don’t like it! Let me alone, but he smiled, and gently said; Not yet!
Then, WHAM! I was placed on a spinning wheel and suddenly I was spun around and around and around. Stop it: I’m getting so dizzy! I’m going to be sick, I screamed. But the master only nodded and said, quietly; not yet! He spun me and poked and prodded and bent me out of shape to suit himself and then….
Then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I yelled and knocked and pounded at the door. Help! Get me out of here! I could see him through the opening and I could read his lips and he shook his head from side to side, Not yet!
When I thought I couldn’t bear it another minute, the door opened. He carefully took me out and put me on the shelf, and I began to cool. Oh, that felt so good! Ah, this is much better, I thought.
But, after I cooled he picked me up and he brushed and painted me all over. The fumes were horrible and I thought I would gag. Oh, please stop it. Stop it!!, I cried. He only shook his head and said, Not yet!!
Then suddenly he put me back in to the oven. Only it was not like the first one. This was twice as hot and I just knew I would suffocate. I begged. I pleaded. I screamed. I cried. I was convinced that I would never make it. I was ready to give up. Just then, the door opened and he took me out and again placed me on the shelf, were I cooled and waited- and waited, wondering what’s he going to do to me next?
An hour later, he handed me a mirror and said, Look at yourself.
And I did.
I said, "That’s not me, that couldn’t be me. It’s beautiful. I’m beautiful!"
Quietly he spoke: I want you to remember:
I know that it hurt to be rolled and pounded and patted, but had I left you alone, you’d have dried up.
I know that it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled.
I know that it hurt and was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn’t put you there, you would have cracked.
I know that the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn’t done that, you never would have hardened. You would not have had any colour in your life. If I hadn’t put you back in that second oven, you wouldn’t have survived for long because the hardness would not have held.
Now you are a finished product. Now you are what I had in mind when I first began with you.
The moral of this story is this:
God our Father knows what He’s doing with each of His children. He is the divine Potter, and we are His clay. He will mold us and make us, and expose us to just enough pressures of only the right kinds that we may be made into conformity to His beloved Son, to thus fulfill His good, pleasing and perfect will.
So when life seems hard, and you are being pounded and patted and pushed almost beyond endurance, when your world seems to be spinning out of control; when you feel like you are in a fiery furnace of trials, when life seems so difficult, try this---
Brew a cup of your favorite tea in your prettiest teacup, sit down, and think on this story and then, have a little talk with the divine Potter.
Isaiah 64:8 "But now, O LORD, thou art our father, we are the clay, and thou our potter, and we all are the work of thy hand."
Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
Romans 8:29 "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren."

He Holds My Hand
When I am grieved, down-cast, alone,
And tears flow down my cheeks unknown,
He drives the sorrow from my heart,
New happiness and joys impart;
He clears the paths that once seemed rough,
He holds my hand, That is enough.
Why should He all my burdens bear?
Why should He all my sorrows share?
And when my feet are wont to stray,
He guides them on the narrow way,
I only know when roads are rough,
He holds my hand, That is enough.
Because of Jesus' love for me,
He trod the road to Calvary;
He paid the ransom price for me,
And shed His blood upon the tree.
Now, if my path be smooth or rough,
He holds my hand, That is enough.
Just trust Him and His cleansing blood,
And rest in His great matchless love;
He came, your precious soul to save,
That you eternal life might have;
And if your path be smooth or rough,
He'll hold your hand, 'Twill be enough.

THY LUMP OF CLAY
Empty of SELF, LORD,
Thy lump of clay;
Shape me and mold me
In Thy skilled way.
Helpless and hopeless
The ways of my will;
Strong and with purpose
Thy hands shape me still!
Though I see nothing
In me but crude earth,
Thine eye envisions
A vessel of worth.
Make me of use, Lord,
For I am Thine own,
Formed for Thy pleasure,
Thy praises alone.

The Potter's Hand
But no, O Lord, thou art our father, we are the clay, and thou
the potter; and we are the work of thy hand.
Isaiah 64:8
To the potter's house I went down one day,
and watched him while moulding the vessels of clay,
And many a wonderful lesson I drew,
As I noted the process the clay went through;
Trampled and broken, downtrodden and rolled,
To render more plastic and fit for the mould.
How like the clay that is human I thought,
When in heavenly hands to perfection is brought.
For self must be cast as the dust at His feet,
Before it is ready for service made meet,
And pride must be broken,and self-will lost,
All laid on the alter, whatever the cost.
But low, by and by, a delicate face,
Of wonderful beauty and exquisite grace.
Was it once the vile clay! Oh yes!!!!! Yet, how strange!
The potter has wrought so marvelous a change!
Not a trace of the earth, nor mark of the clay,
The fires of the furnace have burned them away.
Wondrous skill of the potter- the praise is His due,
In whose hands to perfection and beauty it grew:
Thus with souls lying still, content in God's hand,
That do not His power of working withstand.
They are moulded and fitted, a treasure to hold.
Vile clay now transformed into purest of gold!
